Although not much is known for the 2021 model year, it has been reported that the Subaru Crosstrek is set to get a more powerful engine. Not only will this help keep your adventures as fun as possible, but it will also make your travels through the Dallas-Fort Worth (DFW) area enjoyable.

What New Engine Does The 2021 Subaru Crosstrek Have?

Currently, the Crosstrek features a 2.0-liter engine, but a new 2.5-liter SUBARU BOXER four-cylinder engine is set to join the lineup in 2021. This engine should be available in the new Sport trim level as well as the Limited trim and is said to produce up to 182-horsepower and 176 pounds-feet of torque. It should only be available with the continuously variable automatic transmission and will most likely include the Subaru all-wheel drive.

The acceleration time of the new 2.5-liter engine is set to improve as well. Currently, the 2.0-liter engine and CVT pairing goes from zero to 60 miles-per-hour in 9.1-seconds and makes the quarter-mile in 17.2-seconds. We're hoping that a more powerful engine will get those acceleration speeds up for a more fun drive.
